The Queensland Studies Authority (QSA) are responsible for the decision to implement the Australian Curriculum, whilst reserving the right to retain their own state's priorities and approaches when it comes to curriculum provision and teaching and learning.
The Queensland Studies Authority (QSA) required Queensland schools to implement an unchanged version of the Australian Curriculum P-10 for English, Mathematics, Science & History in 2013. Queensland schools are also required to implement an unchanged version of the Australian Curriculum for Geography in 2014.
It is forecast that Queensland schools will implement the following recently released Australian Curriculum learning areas during 2015/16:
Until then, Queensland schools are to continue to use the QSA Curriculum for the following learning areas:
The Australian Curriculum Review & Queensland
Whilst awaiting the outcomes of the current Australian Curriculum review, the QSA have advised that Queensland schools will:

The Australian Curriculum Review & Queensland
Whilst awaiting the outcomes of the current Australian Curriculum review, the QSA have advised that Queensland schools will:
- Continue to implement the Australian Curriculum for English, Mathematics, Science and History
- Proceed with their current implementation plan for Geography.
Downloading the Curriculum
The curriculum can be separated into two sections: (i) The Australian Curriculum for Queensland and (ii) The Queensland Curriculum.
(i) The Australian Curriculum for Queensland
The QSA advises that schools download the Australian Curriculum directly from the Australian Curriculum (ACARA) website. The Progressive Curriculum Frameworks for the Australian Curriculum (developed by Anton Reiter of Effective Curriculum Ideas), which are a more user-friendly version of the Australian Curriculum (that clearly identifies progression between each year level and is presented in tabular form) can be downloaded from here.

The QSA also provide resources for the P–10 Australian Curriculum: English, Mathematics, Science, History and Geography, which can be accessed from the Australian Curriculum in Queensland section.
