Microsoft Sway
On October 1, 2015, Microsoft launched an invitation for people to apply to test their brand new addition to the Office suite; Microsoft Sway.
Sway allows people to present ideas in a new way as the presentations/canvases ('called 'Sways'):
Whilst there are some definite similarities between Microsoft Sway and Flowboard (for Mac & iPad), Sway looks like it will work across a variety of platforms.
Sway allows people to present ideas in a new way as the presentations/canvases ('called 'Sways'):
- have no borders, edges, page breaks, cells or slides, which essentially leads to the creation of a continuous canvas
- are presented online via any web browser for ease of access
- can embed live web-based information that can be interacted with (e.g. Twitter feeds)
- have their work present across a number of different devices (e.g. PC, smartphone or tablet) without the need for content modification or tweaking.

TouchCast

As demonstrated in the video above, TouchCast enables anyone to present content in a more interactive and multi-modal manner as well as including timed insertion of supplemental information. By including these interactive elements, from web pages and pictures, quotes and polls, presenters significantly increase the viewer’s engagement.

Interactive Web-Based PowerPoint Presentations
Whilst there are a plethora of online solutions that enable people to upload and share their PowerPoint presentations online (e.g. SlideShare), these 'solutions' often do not have the ability to allow for the interactive features contained within PowerPoint to be used. However, there are three options that do:
PowerShow
PowerShow allows users to upload (for free) PowerPoint presentations whilst retaining the function of embedded hyperlinks (links to other slides), transitions and animations.

Office Mix
Microsoft have released Office Mix, a new PowerPoint add-on that lets teachers create rich media presentations and interactive lessons and share them online.

- A downloadable plugin for PowerPoint (requires Microsoft Office 2013 SP1 or Office 365).
- A site where anyone can share their work and view analytics.
The plugin gives users the ability to record lecture materials directly within PowerPoint and embed multimedia and interactive elements, including:
- audio and video of the presenter
- on-screen annotations
- tests and quizzes
- online videos
- polls
- third-party tools, such as activities from Khan Academy and CK-12 Foundation.

PowerPoint Online & OneDrive
PowererPoint Online by Microsoft allows users to embed PowerPoint presentations within a website or blog, to be viewed from within the browser and without having to have PowerPoint installed.
However:
View an interactive PowerPoint presentation embedded below:
- Animation effects on slides or transitions between slides are not visible in the embedded viewer nor does audio or video play.
- PowerPoint presentations must be uploaded onto Windows OneDrive (an online service that provides 25GB of free storage). Users must:
- register for an Windows Live account
- upload the presentation
- right-click on the file (pictured right)
- select embed
- select generate
- copy the embed code
- select 'Done'
- paste the code into the desired website/blog
- edit the embed code to select the desired dimensions and alignment.
